Dr Clement G. Plaatjies completed his specialisation in Sports and Exercise Medicine at the University of Pretoria having graduated from the University of Cape Town’s medical school in 2011. Dr Plaatjies is currently team physician for the Junior Springboks (U20 national rugby team) . He also has experience as a team physician for Eastern Province Rugby Union, Southern Kings Rugby Team, South Africa schools rugby team and various other sports-related medical support (including Ironman and Premier Soccer League).
After spending a year as the head of the Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at Vitup International Hospital in Dalian, China, he has returned to his adopted home of Port Elizabeth to deliver medical care to the Eastern Cape in-keeping with the high standards to which he holds himself.
